Michelle had her braces on for too long, and she was too afraid to visit a dentist. As a result, she had a lot of her teeth begin rotting and falling out. The rotting teeth affect her ability to eat and negatively affect her breath, which makes her job working with people and children difficult. She is afraid to smile for fear of people not smiling back or backing up because of her breath, but she wantes to overcome that fear and be able to interact with people normally. She has lost so many teeth that she stopped keeping track, and the teeth that remain are brittle because of overuse, making chewing and eating tough.
After being chosen as one of the recipients of our Second Chance program, Michelle came to our office to have Drs. Pitrowski and Goldberg perform a full-arch replacement. A full-arch replacement procedure is designed to restore a patient's complete oral function, oral health, and smile. Using as little as four dental implants as a base for a permanent denture, our doctors were able to replace all of Michelle's teeth with brand new teeth that were custom designed to look and function just like natural teeth.
After having her full-arch replacement procedure, Michelle received a second chance at life. She no longer had to worry about her bad breath or about not being able to smile at her family and those she works with. She can now set the example she always wanted for her kids, as well as eat all the foods she loves. She loves being to show off her brand new, custom-designed smile.
